(Previously referred to as the 8th edition, now referred to as a reprinting of the 1881 edition.) Limp black morocco with flap and inner pocket, gilt lettering on cover, gilt edges, marbled end papers.
This edition is known as the Pocket Book edition. This copy belonged to the famous lithographer Louis Prang. Only 300 copies printed, signed by Whitman on title page.
