Texas Fashion Collection / University of North Texas

The fashion collection began in 1938 when Stanley and Edward Marcus preserved examples of top designers’ works in honor of their aunt, Carrie Marcus Neiman, a co-founder of the Neiman Marcus store. The Carrie Marcus Neiman Memorial Fashion Collection maintained the collection after her death in 1953. The Dallas Fashion Group took over in the 1960s and saw that it came to UNT in 1972 to support a UNT growing fashion design program.

Under UNT’s care, today, the Texas fashion collection includes over 18,000 items.
